Why you need to be on Google!

Is it safe to say that our reliance on Google has turned it into our new best friend?

Google has become the hub of everything these days – we use it to find the ideal birthday presents for friends and family, research our dream cars, find out the weather forecast for the day, look for somewhere to eat that night and answer basically any question we can think of!

‘Google it’ has become a term that we all use when we don’t know the answer to a question posed. I’m no exception to this and in many cases, my first port of call is to turn to the trusty search engine to find out what I need to know before asking those around me. With our daily reliance on Google continually increasing, it is essential that a business ensures that it’s visible to Google in order to gain success. Whether you are a small, local business or a multi-national corporation, chances are that at some point, someone will try and find you on Google – but how easily will they find you?

Yes, different organisations have different needs and different budgets for their digital marketing activity, but no matter your size or spend, there are some simple steps that you should be following for you to appear online.

Get signed up to Google!

Whether you have a website or not – and we strongly advise that you do – ensure that you have a Google account. You can put your business on the map with Google My Business to make yourself discoverable to searchers, as well as gaining access to Google Doc, which is a perfect way to collaborate with your team when creating any documents, and Google Hangouts, an easy-to-use video conferencing system that allows you to see and hear up to five participants at the same time.

Help your customers to find you

The more information Google can find on you, the easier to find you become. By making sure all of the content on your website speaks to your ideal customer will naturally help to increase your online presence, e.g. by including keywords that they would look for whilst scouring the web for information. Also, setting up social media platforms will aid in your discovery, along with the regular upkeep of your website.

The power of online advertising

Another advantage of being on Google is advertising. There is no escaping Google AdWords these days, with an ad appearing on near enough every search you do. Whether you have a minimal budget for your online advertising or a substantial amount to spend, advertising with the right keywords can beneficially impact the number of people that find and purchase from you online.

When you think about just how many of us rely on Google to find the answers to the majority of our questions, it could be seen to have a detrimental impact on organisations that don’t take that extra step to be found – is this an opportunity that you can afford to miss?

At Denfield, we understand that this can be time-consuming to set up, which is why we are here to support you with all your advertising needs – we’ll guarantee that you’re getting the most out of every penny you spend. Get in touch with us today to find out how we can support you.
