Welcome to Deadfield...

As the end of October approached, it was time for #FridayFeeling at Denfield. But with Halloween on the horizon, the Social Den delivered something a bit different… Deadfield.

The creepy, chilling, warning message was sent out a few days before the event, spattered with blood, guts and all things gruesome. Its aim? To prepare the Denfield team for the pending zombie apocalypse and to outline the day’s disturbing activities: pumpkin-carving, apple-bobbing and, of course, spooky fancy dress. Prizes were up for grabs for creativity: the best-dressed zombie and best pumpkin-carving would each be awarded a prize.

Friday soon came around and the office was plagued with cobwebs, spiders and lots of creepy surprises, not to mention an overload of sweet treats – if the zombies didn’t get you, the sugar certainly would! We didn’t just have zombies though, with cats, witches and skeletons also jumping out on the day – the fancy dress competition was stiff and the judging panel certainly had their work cut out. As lunchtime approached, it was time for the pumpkin-carving competition votes to be cast – with each pumpkin listed anonymously, there was no room for cheating!

As daylight faded and dark set in, it was time to announce the creative champions: Pammy came out on top in the fancy dress thanks to her frighteningly gruesome zombie costume, and Lynda triumphed in the pumpkin-carving with her intricate witch and cauldron design, another worthy winner. Happy Halloween to all!

Ready, steady… RUN.
