THE BRIEF

Whitewall Galleries have a nationwide network comprising over 40 galleries. Galleries are situated on the high street and within shopping centres across the UK and so we were challenged to develop an online presence that worked hand-in-hand with their customers’ offline experiences.


The website houses original artwork, limited edition artwork, sculptures and more and the primary objective is to position Whitewall as the only place to shop for internationally renowned art collections in the UK.

Despite the simple user experience, the website’s build was actually highly complex. All stock runs on a live feed that constantly checks stock across 40 galleries nationwide; sales that take place in Guildford must be reflected on the website instantly and vice versa.

Another challenge we faced was the integration of a robust finance application and payment gateway, allowing Whitewall customers to purchase artwork using interest free credit right from their desktop, tablet or mobile – which is a first for the retailer.

Among the other features is an order management suite for processing online orders, artwork wishlist, media centre, event booking, customer CRM system, gallery finder and an online recruitment centre.
